I liked this book set in 1953 in Auckland based on a big department store and the characters involved in the stories and drama that followed. It inspired me to read more of this author’s other novels as she describes the times very well.

I laughed with this book, I honestly cried too. Its brutal, its a seemingly honest reflection of what gets buried under the carpets these days. But we all kno it goes on! I liked this so much I bought the sequel too.
it had twists and turns when i thought who the killer was well i was wrong so please read this book if u can
