Taking Care of Business: A Guide to Entrepreneurship in Aotearoa (Business Guide) – 3rd Edition

Taking Care of Business: A Guide to Entrepreneurship in Aotearoa (Third Edition) is written as both an introduction and as a how-to guide for the new entrepreneur. With an aim to provide concise and useful information, the book is for people who are about to take the first step towards setting up a business or who have recently established themselves in business.

Specifically for the New Zealand business environment, the book covers all aspects of entrepreneurship, from new business start up and purchasing an existing business, through to cashflow management and the key components of a business plan. It includes a guide to the main legislation affecting businesses in New Zealand as well as references to additional useful sources of support and information for businesses.

A key feature of the book is the advice and experience shared by New Zealand entrepreneurs who have met the challenge and are now successful in business.

    Book Terminology

Tanning - age tanning or browning/yellowing occurs over time on the pages of books,  tanning tends to start on the outside of the pages and progresses inward over time, often creating a brownish or yellowish border around the page edges.
Foxed / Foxing - age-related brown or brown-yellowish spotting of the paper caused by a chemical reaction over time.
Sunned - damage done to a book cover or dust jacket caused by exposure to direct sunlight.
Closed Tear - indicates a torn page in which no material has been lost. A closed tear can be pressed back into place or sometimes fixed with archival repair tape.
Ex-library – the book was once owned by, and circulated in, a public library.  This book could well be in any of the above general categories but more often than not has been well used.  May have library stickers, stamps, or markings.
